Nothing changes around this part of town. A fever fills the air right about now. I’d better keep my eyes fixed on the ground and tune in to that ever raucous sound; sirens over hostile tones and pounding rain on the windswept stones. Every pathway and every turn bares a retention I wish I could unlearn. Wasted resentment, the blood & the tears, held in the landscape for all of these years.

Not all hard luck stories that’s for sure. My own fuck up’s continue to taunt. A reckless account. A foolish defeat. Memory lane aint all it’s cracked up to be. Ice cold breathes up from the dock to chill the bloodstained concrete blocks. Every pathway and every turn bares a retention I wish I could unlearn.
